Explanations:

• Practicing increases talent, denoted by a music note.
• Producing music increases fame, denoted by a star.
• Advancing the day produces money, (confusingly) denoted by the universal currency symbol (bad design choice sorry). 
• The more fame you have, the more money you make.
• The more talent you have, the more fame you can accrue.
• Find venues and shows to participate in.
• Shows give you half your money back and double the fame required for entry. (The same symbols are used for venues items.)
